Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program:

PROGRAM / COURSE DESCRIPTION: The Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program is a one course program.

The course is offered in an 8 week format that may be taken in the day or evening hours depending on course availability.

This course meets the theory and clinical hour minimums required by law.

Successful completion of this course will require your dedication and attention in the classroom, at the clinical site, and at home reviewing the course material.

Upon successful completion of this program, you will be eligible to take the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Nurse Aide Competency examination. When you pass this exam, your name will be entered into the Health Care Worker Registry: http://www.idph.state.il.us/nar/home/htm.

Skills learned in this course include all elements of personal care, vital sign measurements, body mechanics, safety precautions, resident’s rights, infection control, communication and observation.

The program will also explore the needs of geriatric and Alzheimer’s patients. CPR certification will be included in this course.
